Individual Note: On 30 November 1830, the Dan Griffith household lived next farm to the household of William Rotan and was listed on the U. S. census, White County, Tennessee. Living in the Griffith household were one white male under age 5 (later identified as Wells Griffith), one white male between age 5 and 10 (probably Russell Griffith), one white male between age 10 and 15 (William Rotan Griffith), and one white male age 30 to 40 (probably Dan Griffith, the husband and father).
In 1837 Russell Griffith (born before 1826 who was probably an older son of Dan) appeared with one poll for the year 1837 and disappeared by 1838.
